Descendance (2026) – Studio Project

Descendance is a rogue-like, RPG built in Unity, designed for players who enjoy tabletop-style decision making without the need for a full RPG system or complex character sheets. It combines lightweight hero management, procedural challenge generation, and physics-based dice rolling to create a gameplay loop that feels tactile, strategic, and unpredictable. Players guide a small party of heroes—each with unique strengths—through a mysterious dungeon full of locked mechanisms, arcane puzzles, physical obstacles, and hidden dangers. Every encounter asks the player to choose which hero should step forward, spend the necessary willpower, and attempt a skill check using real simulated dice rather than RNG alone.

The game is intended for players who enjoy streamlined, turn-based systems with risk and reward decision making, appealing to fans of tabletop mechanics, dungeon crawlers, and rogue-likes. Because progression is run-based, stat increases are persistent, and heroes grow stronger over time through earned skill points. However, each expedition through the dungeon presents increasing difficulty, and the constant possibility of failure. The project aims to blend the feel of a traditional D20 tabletop experience with the accessibility and pace of a digital game, making it approachable for both casual players and enthusiasts who appreciate dice-driven gameplay.
